Charlie Friedman seldom takes the train to work, but he did that day.  The day the train station was bombed.

His grieving wife has to deal with all the mysterious men and threats that come her way.  Even a year later, they are still lurking in the shadows looking for the two hundred fifty million dollars they say her husband owes them.  But she has help.  Police Lieutenant Ty Hauck finds himself drawn into the mystery.  How is Charlie Friedman's death tied in with a young man who restores cars, and is run down by a car that same day as the train station attack?  The search for answers takes Ty on a dangerous trip. 

Andrew Gross novel is divided into parts, and of course chapters.  Each and every chapter and part sets you up for more to come.  You think the adventure will never end, and then it does.  This is only Mr. Gross' second solo novel (other's being written with James Patterson) and its by far one of the best I've ever read.  Never loss that touch, Mr. Gross.  I'll be looking for the next one.
